Alan Williams

Alan grew up in South Dakota and from an early age spent a great deal of time with his Norwegian grandfather in his wood shop. Later on in his childhood, he would help his father and brothers build a family home doing everything themselves. As a teenager, he was already working all types of yard care and handy man services. This led him to study art at South Dakota State before moving to Austin in the 1980’s. From this point on, Alan has worked a variety of construction positions, including with cabinetmakers, boat builders, property managers, and architecturally sensitive, historical renovations in the Pemberton Heights area of Austin. Alan also spent over a decade as a professional musician that traveled the US and Europe with a band that recorded 3 albums. He still plays out occasionally and does his part to make Austin the “Live Music Capital of the World”.

As a Master Carpenter, Alan brings to Shoberg Homes a unique focus to the supervision of our projects. He understands the craftsmanship needed from each trade contractor, and how to help them achieve the best results possible. Alan is an artist at heart with an engineer’s attention to detail. When not sweating the details on our job sites, he is often volunteering for the Boy Scouts, Austin Yellow Bike Project, or enjoying all that Austin has to offer with his family.
